INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, SATURDAY 8th MARCH 2025

Solidarity ‘Walks of Return’

Sheffield Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund is organising afternoon and evening events on Saturday 8th March, in solidarity with women of Palestine, and to remember the many thousands of women martyrs, especially in Gaza since October 2023.  The details on this page are just about the walks.

We will be raising funds for scholarships for women in Palestine.  For further details for IWD 2025 see the flyer.

The details on this page are just about the walks.

We are organising a number of walks, varying in length, in solidarity with the thousands of women, along with their families, on their Walks of Return – walking the long coastal road from the south of the narrow Gaza Strip to the north.  Thousands of families were displaced time and time again, and have lived much of the last 16 months in tents.  Many are now walking back to the north of the Gaza Strip, many to what was once their home, now rubble or significantly damaged.  We walk in solidarity with them.

We will walk from our different communities to join together for a vigil in the Peace Gardens.  All Solidarity Walks of Return will finish at the Peace Gardens at 5.15 to join the vigil, and soon after sunset, the short march to Broomhall for the evening social.  Please join us for one of our solidarity walks of return…. Bring your flags.
